An income tracker built for freelancers and consultants

Updated October 28, 2026

QuickBizTrack is an income log for freelancers and consultants. When a payment arrives you tap who paid, tap what it was for (Hourly work, Project payment, Retainer, Consultation, Deposit), enter the amount and log it. It shows your totals by month, and estimates how much to set aside for self-employment and income tax.

Service buttons ready for freelancers

A new account starts with these buttons on the Log screen, and you can add, remove and price them in Settings:

Log payments as they arrive

The question on the Log screen is "Who hired you?" Save your regular clients and tap one when they pay; their last project type and amount fill in. A one-off job goes on the One-off gig button without creating a client. QuickBizTrack records money received. It does not send invoices, so keep using whatever you bill with.

See who actually pays the bills

Each client page lists every payment, and the Numbers screen shows your best months and how your income compares to your usual pace. Irregular income is easier to plan around when you can see it laid out.

Refunds and returned deposits

If you return a deposit or refund part of a project, log it as a refund against the client. It is subtracted from your totals on that date, and the original payment stays in the history.

Taxes for freelancers

Freelancers are generally self-employed: self-employment tax (15.3% on most of your profit) plus income tax, with the IRS expecting estimated payments four times a year, because no one is withholding for you. Clients often report your pay on a 1099, but you owe the tax whether or not you receive one. The Taxes tab estimates what to set aside each quarter from the payments you logged. It is an estimate, not tax advice.

What it does not do

QuickBizTrack does not book appointments, run payroll, track inventory, send invoices or file taxes. It records what you earn, quickly, and shows you how the business is doing.

What it costs

$9.99 a month after a 14-day free trial (a card is added to start the trial, and nothing is charged if you cancel before day 15). The tax estimate for freelancers is on the Taxes tab; for a quick number, try the self-employed tax calculator and see the estimated tax due dates.

Common questions

How should a freelancer track income?

Record each payment when you receive it, with who paid and what it was for. That gives you a clean total to use for quarterly estimated taxes and your yearly return. QuickBizTrack does this in a few taps.

How much should a freelancer set aside for taxes?

Many freelancers start with 25% to 30% of profit. At $80,000 of profit a single filer owes roughly 24% in 2026 federal taxes, before state tax. Use the free calculator on this site for your own numbers.

Does it replace invoicing software?

QuickBizTrack does not book appointments, run payroll, track inventory, send invoices or file taxes. It records what you earn, quickly, and shows you how the business is doing.

Do I need to pay quarterly taxes as a freelancer?

Generally yes, if you expect to owe at least $1,000 in tax for the year after withholding and credits. The 2026 payment dates are April 15, June 15, September 15 and January 15, 2027. See the due dates page on this site.
