Prices that change from client to client

A cut has a price. A color or a set of highlights depends on the head of hair in the chair. In QuickBizTrack you can set a price on the services that are fixed, like a blowout, and type the amount for the ones that vary. Tapping a service with a price fills in the amount; tapping one without a price leaves the number pad for you.

Remember who comes back, and when

Stylists live on repeat clients who return every few weeks. Each client has a page with their total, number of visits, last visit and every sale. The Numbers screen lists regulars who are due back, such as "usually every 28 days, last here 35 days ago". Tap a returning client on the Log screen and their last service and price fill in.

Keep their phone number on their page. Importing a client list from a spreadsheet brings the names and numbers across.

When a service has to be redone

If you give money back, turn on Log a refund in the Tip, date, notes, or refund section, pick the client and enter the amount. QuickBizTrack finds the sale it belongs to (or offers the closest ones if nothing matches), and takes it off your totals on the day you refunded it. The original sale stays in your history, so the record is honest.

Taxes for self-employed stylists

Stylists who rent a chair or a suite, or who work from home, are typically self-employed, which means self-employment tax plus income tax, paid in quarterly estimates. The Taxes tab shows an estimate of what to set aside for each quarter from the sales you logged, and lets you enter yearly expenses (product, rent, tools). It is an estimate, not tax advice.
